 FAITH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Church Custodian
 
 Position Overview: Custodian position is required to perform general maintenance, weekly cleaning, and care of church grounds.

 Reports To:  Board of Trustees chair (Supervisor) 

 Employment Status: Hourly  Hours: Ten hours per week  (Set hours will be negotiated with the Pastor and Board of Trustees chair.)

 Starting wage: $15-$17/hour depending on experience (Additional pay opportunities will be an option for outside groups requesting custodial services, such as weddings, funerals, building tenants, etc.)

 CUSTODIAN RESPONSIBILITIES   
 Clean weekly of classrooms, sanctuary, kitchen, restrooms, and all public spaces.  Cleaning includes, but is not limited to, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of floors, washing entrance door windows, dusting, wiping down tables and chairs, and emptying trash receptacles and taking trash to dumpsters.  Develop and maintain inventory to replenish cleaning supplies and other maintenance equipment.  Submit purchase orders for replenish cleaning supplies to the Board of Trustees chair.   Report general maintenance needs to Trustees.  Assist with Faith Church ministries’ set-up (e.g., tables and chairs) as needed.  Assist with additional duties, including yard work as time permits and weather conditions require (like helping with snow removal as needed)*  
 *Additional hours may be offered to accomplish these extra tasks.
 POSITION EXPECTIONS    
 Is able to handle considerable physical activity, which includes heavy lifting, pushing, carrying, or pulling equipment and supplies; able to walk up and down stairs; and able to stretch, reach, walk, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.  Is comfortable using lawn equipment and accessories.  Is able to perform duties with minimal supervision and have a high level of discretion and integrity.  Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
 POSITION REQUIREMENTS   
 Prior custodial experience recommended.  Two years of custodial experience preferred.  Must clear background check.  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or photo I.D.
