Children’s Ministry Director – Job Description

Position Type: Part-time (5 hours/week)

Reports To: Pastor

Location: Faith United Methodist Church

Position Summary

The Children & Youth Worker supports the spiritual formation of children from birth through

elementary age by providing safe, nurturing, and engaging ministry environments. This role

combines hands-on weekly ministry with light program coordination and community outreach.

The worker partners with volunteers, follows provided curriculum, and helps create a

welcoming, organized, and Christ centered space for children and families.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Nursery Ministry (Sundays)

2. Thursday Evening Children’s Group

Qualifications

 A growing Christian faith and commitment to the mission of the church.

 Experience working with children in ministry, education, or childcare settings.

 Ability to lead small groups of children with warmth, patience, and creativity.

 Strong communication and organizational skills.

 Ability to collaborate with volunteers and church leadership.

 Must pass a background check and follow Safe Sanctuary Policy.

Work Schedule

 Sunday mornings (nursery)

 Thursday evenings (children’s group)

 Additional flexible hours for planning, communication, and community events
